James Dillet Freeman wrote a prayer, called The Prayer For Protection,
a framed copy of which was carried by an American astronaut to the moon,
and left there. Here’s the original prayer, which is used to close many New
Thought services:
The light of God surrounds me,
The love of God enfolds me,
The power of God protects me,
The presence of God watches over me.
Wherever I am, God is, and all is well.
This past Sunday, September 21, was the U.N.’s International Day of Peace, and the First Annual Greater K.C. World Peace Festival, called “Shining a Light of Peace”. At the festival, I
adapted the Prayer For Protection to fit the occasion. Noting that one thing every faith agrees on is that Peace is the nature of God, I prayed:
The light of Peace surrounds me,
The love of Peace enfolds me,
The power of Peace protects me,
The presence of Peace watches over me.
Wherever I am, Peace is, and all is well.
If this resonates with you, please take 15-20 minutes to sit in the
silence repeating these prayers and feel the glow of peace infusing
you and your world.
Love and blessings,
Rev. Dr. Sharri
